Club meetings are a great place to share and learn .

Club members enjoy meeting at the field to fly and socialize. We also have monthly meetings every month on the 3rd Thursday of the month. These meetings are a chance to get together and talk about all goings on with the club. This is a great place for new members to introduce themselves to the club and have questions answered. There is always show and tell from members with their current projects. There is a swap meet at one of these meetings at least once a year and also a Christmas dinner for members in December. We look forward to meeting you at one of these meetings.
Please keep an eye on the event calendar at the bottom of this page for upcoming events. Also, facebook will have updates about events and club members will receive emails regarding upcoming events.

FPM members provide a friendly welcome to anyone interested in learning to build or fly radio controlled model aircraft. The depth of knowledge available is sure to cover every aspect of the hobby from the beginner to the more advanced builders and fliers. Come on out and experience the excitement for yourself

The best thing about fpm is any time you need a hand or a little part there’s always someone to lend a hand or supply knowledge and experience to make things fly

One of the things I enjoy about the FPM club is the camaraderie with each other. A wealth of knowledge and experience being willing shared with less experienced and knowledgeable. Always being encouraged to become a better RC pilot.

I was introduced to model aviation through the Fern Prairie Modelers at the age of 15. Beyond learning to build and fly R/C airplanes, I received guidance and mentorship from club members who had valuable life experience. As I became a young adult the club helped develop my leadership skills through various club officer and instructor positions. Decades later I have a career in the aviation industry and FPM helped make that dream a reality.

Club Officers

Frank Stooks

President
Frank Stooks

Frank has been a member since 2009 and has learned so much from the many skilled pilots in the club, who also have become good friends. His favorite planes are warbirds and has grown his collection to over 20 planes. He loves the bigger birds and learning their limits. If the weather's good, he'll most likely be out flying.

James Boughen

Vice President
James Boughen

James loves everything aviation. It's his work, it is his hobby. If it flies James probably is involved with it. Large warbirds are his favorites, but you'll see him flying all kinds of RC planes. James is a FPM instructor.

Ed Bailiff

Secretary
Ed Bailiff

I love to be involved as an officer as I feel others should enjoy the hobby and this helps keep the club alive for others. Been President, VP, Safety Officer and now secretary. FPMC a service to others.

Chris Childers

Treasurer
Chris Childers

Chris is a relative newcomer to the hobby, getting started in 2019. He enjoys building and flying various types of aircraft, and spending time at the field with his son (and daughters when they can be talked into it!).
